HI, I'm facing a same problem on my HP 5310m laptop.
When I was using 11.04, I had no problem.
Problem wont happen all the time, but it seem like after a long term(over half
a day) suspend, it mostly happens.
Resumeing from hibernate mode instead of suspend mode, problem doesn't seem to
show up.
This bug affects Oneric (11.10) as well.
There is no option in the GUI to not lock on resume (that I've found,
anyway), so there is no workaround for 11.10 unless there's something
that can be edited or run from the command line.
I have confirmed that this forcibly kills user processes, as I have

Just noticed, that on my second machine, none of these issues are
present.
The only differences are the affected machine is (1) a fresh install (2)
has dual monitors - 24" each. The unaffected machine is (1) an upgrade

Hi, I can always include more logs, just say so. With modem-manager
forcing to restart (with killall) on ubuntu 11.10, I get that ttyUSB4 to

In 10.04 LTS my scanner worked fine ... I used XSANE and SIMPLE-SCAN .
I upgraded to 10.10 and things still worked. I upgraded to 11.04 and

Trying to use any of the media control functions (play/pause, stop,
