I think this bug probably related with sleeping. I closed my laptop, it
slept. When I opened it, the error occurred and something became

sooner) the connection will drop. I have tried adjusting my MTU to
various sizes, but this doesn't help. I have Windows 7 and Mac OSX

After testing with affected hardware I can confirm that Intel 82579V

That configuration dialog is deprecated in GNOME3 and Oneiric so closing

Window Menu is hidden on purpose.
The UNO API used to develop the menubar integration did not allow the
Window menu to work properly so I'm afraid that until an upstream
integration is done (overriding the UNO API and exposing the menu
actions/structure/shortcuts from the inside of VLC, the LO too
