This is a rather big and not yet widely tested patch, but the only
option we have right now to prevent people from breaking their screen
config, so we need to take it. The error prone bits are in the separate
callout, so the impact of bugs there is indeed rather limited.

I reckon Rocko (rockorequin) : After 6 months of using natty, I still find this
to be unity's most annoying and frustrating bug.
Yes, its really frustrating. Every day I curse this decision and "why they made
it like this?" Its annoying!!

@everyone: I will submit the package soon to Debian after doing a quick
test of the package (if it builds and starts). I will also make the
sync request to get the package into Ubuntu
Hadn't heard of pavucontrol, but it doesn't show up there either. I'm
uploading screenshots of the input and output device tabs in pavucontrol
fwiw.
