If someone happens to stumble upon this bug on a live system, please try to
provide core dump with gdb:
(gdb) generate-core-file
That way I can debug the problem on my end even though there would be no
debug symbols available on your end (like in the backtrace Ted
provided).

ppa. unfortunately i had no luck with them.
Connecting via vpn-connection created under gnome's nm-applet works
still fine under kde but if i create a new vpn
