I had the same issue. In my case I got the "could not update
ICEauthority" error message at every logon. After switching both the
server (/etc/exports) and client (/etc/auto.net) to NFSv4 the error
message dissappeared. Big thanks to James for the suggestion!

To be very clear the photo attached to comment #1 is that of Ubuntu
Oneiric 20110901-i386 (the broken behavior) where the disc is not
ejected and I couldn't reboot.
The photo attached to this comment is of Natty behavior which works
fine.

Okay, I tried test (r539), and trunk with those three lines added. Same
behavior in both cases: Pasting of python lines does not cause
sequential tabbing, but pasting of any commented line causes trailing
whitespace to be pasted in.

It's constant: I haven't seen the actual time since I upgraded to
Oneiric (note: I was on "Ubuntu Classic" before the upgrade so can't
comment on whether it worked in Unity before that, but I'm pretty sure I
would have noticed if it did as I did try Unity a couple of times).

get corruption too while resuming, but not only: get it if i first
logout of gnome-classic and see that corruption of the 1/5 bottom screen
when i shutdown (so can is it a plymouth conflict ?)
