I also have 3830TG, but it is running Arch Linux, not Ubuntu. Since it
is not an Ubuntu specific bug, I thougth i post my ugly script I have
cut and pasted from HDA_Analyzer scripts. I have 3.0 kernel, so be

I a similar experience and when it happened for me, the mouse was also
very laggy. So laggy in fact that I had to abandon moving the mouse at
all and just get out of the greeter.
