That's what I thought (and wrote) but once apparmor was "configured" (with
aa-complain), it started working. Currently, Dell only provides i386 drivers
for linux.

Thanks for reporting this problem. I find that I cannot reproduce it on
my Natty amd64 system running fldigi 3.21.8-3 or a newer version of
fldigi -- playback-audio doesn't crash and appears to work fine for me.

I am having a similar issue, but it only seems to "crash" the driver
when a large load is applied. When I stream a movie from nfs using VLC
and it shuts down every 1 to 5 minutes or so. The ar9170 driver seems to
be less stable, but the carl9170 seems more stable. The carl9170 still

Ubuntu's direction in Unity is getting really unproductive and losing users in
the process. As an example to launch an application in the dash takes more
clicks (and even some typing) than the previous Gnome menus which is a step
back.
