everything was working well in windows.

As reported by Lenbok on bug 754065, this was caused by having "Keep
previews of minimized windows" enabled in CompizConfig Settings Manager
-> Workarounds. Closing since the reporter no longer experiences the
problem and bug 754065 has much more information.

Thanks Lenbok, I was having this same problem on Ubuntu Classic and it
turned out to be due to that same option.
Opened against compiz-plugins-main, the package containing the
Workarounds plugin.
