The -2 upload resolves issues with the fonts and some multiarch issues.
These already caused an FTBFS in Debian, so its possible they have
introduced some issues into ubuntus packages t
this bug needs retracing and CoreDump is also attached. Once its
retraced by launchpad tracer we can make it public then.

Ok - peeking into your attached log attests that you are indeed using
the proprietary nvidia drivers version 270.30. I see exactly the same
behavior with v 280.13. But everything is smooth sailing when I am using
the intel driver.

I get only a desktop with a panel (look at the screenshots) and nothing
else. I can start unity with the command 'unity' and everything looks

In my situation I found the cause:

My hostname was different from my (reverse) DNS mapping on the
destination host.
Changing my host name on the destination host fixed the problem for me.
