I do not get an error message on reboot, but the subject describes exactly what
I experience. After "sudo shutdown now" it hangs with a message about
modemmanager and something like ...connection dbus..

Booting and fiddling with RIPLinux reveals that the affected system has
a failing hard disc, possibly as a result of the computer being buried
under a pile of other computers and CRTs during the MMS6.3 earthquake on
the 22nd of February. (But it was still serving web pages from under the
pile.)

I think this is a dupe about the first push being interrupted, and the
workaround is to delete the branch through the lp ui and then push it
again. Sorry for the trouble.

The other bug I was thinking of was bug 465517, but is supposed to be
fixed ahead of 2.4b5, and it that wouldn't explain you seeing different
results running apparently the same command on lucid and oneiric. So
more investigation seems to be needed.
