I strongly disagree with post #26. It's (yet another) ugly and
embarrassing bug in gnome-keyring that badly needs to be fixed. Usually

I have the same error in 10.04 LTS. Libreoffice works when calling it as root,
but not as user. I thought it was something related to folders permission,
since I have copied out and back in my files and some of them were accessible
only to the root user, but after changing that, re-installing Ub
Installing the auctex 11.86-4 from debian sid fixed the problem for me
http://packages.debian.org/sid/auctex
There didn't seem to be any compatibility issues with installing that
particular debian package on an ubuntu system.

Mohegan: Your source only showed an empty menu for me after the
indicator is created, I had to move the "sico_activated (NULL);" three
lines down, after the menu is set. I'm too lazy to append a patch, but I
thought I'd share if someone runs into the same problem.

Seems that no matter what program is installed I get a error message
saying NOT INSTALLED but the program is there and works or so far they
do . . I am considering re doing the computer with a CD . . Just rip it
out and re do it completely . . get the same with the Updates using the
update manager
