As nobody added the requested logs I ran:

Why can't I change the status to new? Does the bug reporter have to post
the logs? I have exactly the same behavior, I only have slightly
different hardware (Thinkpad T410).

works for me in lucid, but has a lot of dependencies. May be they can be
reduced? Also it is missing man pages.
