I have etckeeper installed to track changes to /etc using git.
After applying updates in kpackagekit, it hangs with the progress window
at 100% with the action "Committing changes"
Looking at the running processes, I see this:

http://nightly.mozilla.org/, version 8.0.1a1 (2011-07-15). At least in
the Font Sized box of the Content tab. I have been unable to check that

confirmed that audio is working with driver nv activated!
Though "additional drivers" program detects nv as "activated, but not in
use"!
Now sound via DVI/HDMI is o. k. with stereo configuration.

I tested the hard drive with GSmartControl and ran the extended self
test, and it reported no problems with the drive. However, I did manage

Both 2.6.5-0ubuntu1.1 and 2.6.5-0ubuntu2 are free to use as version
numbers for this release. Looking at http://people.canonical.com
/~ubuntu-archive/pending-sru.html it seems that these days there is a
preference for -0ubuntu1.1. Pick the one you like best ;)

When I set up the account on empathy it doesn't allow me to login in

I just did a update-manager -d to test Oneiric alpha 2 on my pc, but after
rebooting I got a kernel panic, so I booted with a previous version of the
kernel, as I logged screenlets crashed.
I had natty installed with all updates.

When booting the computer, the kernel hangs for about 60 secs between:
[0.999895] NET: Registered protocol family 1
[ 63.120313] pci :01:00.0: Boot video device
When I hit any key during the hang period, the kernel quckly resumes
normal bootup.

Intel GMA 950 graphics chip. When I booted from the live media it was
mainly fine, except it insisted the screen was 4:3. No matter, that was
fixed after installed and running some updates, so now it displays

When I put chrome://gpu in the address line I get "This web page is not
available". Looking in chromium help I put in about:gpu and got the
following:
