If I boot a 11.04 Live-CD and select "Deutsch" -> Ubuntu ausprobieren, I get
a desktop with all menus and applications in english.
This is not the case with 10.10 Live-CD. Menus and application were mostly
fully translated to german.

I'd like to provide a log file but I can't get logging to work.
I went to Preferences/Advanced/Logging and I set a log file called "vlc.log" in
my home folder but it hasn't even created the file.
What am I missing? What more do I have to do to enable logging?

Hi, I added a bug watch to the Debian bug. This is done by clicking on
"also affects distribution" right above the bug description, selecting
Debian and pasting the URL.
Since this package has some Ubuntu-specific changes, it will need to be
manually merged after it appears in Debian.

Interesting addendum - I updated the BIOS to the latest available from
ASUS yesterday - and successfully booted the stock kernel once! Once
only though - I rebooted again and the hang returned.

Got the same problem here :( I also tried to fix the dsdt-table with a
custom kernel which didn't fix anything. Using another kernel as the
2.6.39 results in a black screen directly on boot which can only be
worked by by disabling KMS. Is there any chance of getting this to work
in the next weeks?

I still have this with unity 3.8.14-0ubuntu1~natty1, I thought it had
been fixed (twice)... I'm attaching a screenshot. Oh, and the top bar
appeared only after I pressed the PrtSc key, it wasn't there before.

Based on input from some web-sire (no recollection of which) I edited
the etc/NetworkManager/NetworkManager.conf and set ifupdown managed to
"true" - booted and it works..

I can confirm this happens over on my side too. Im using a Sony Vaio NR series
notebook with an integrated intel card. The auto logouts usually happen when
im using Firefox. One minute im browsing, the next im greeted with the login
screen. A very, very, annoying and frustrating bug.
