I agree with the solutions purposed especially changing the delay as it
would fix the problem alone and not cause to many side effects.
Currently with a nub you have to make a fast movement to the edge of the
screen then reduce the pressure to the left holding the mouse there
until the panel opens

A couple of other details that might be useful to compare all those
Broadcom bugs:
lspci -k | grep Network --after-context 3
gives both the available driver and the one that is currently used.
lspci -vvnn | grep Network
gives the PCI Identification number,

Yes this bug still exists in Ubuntu 10.04 and Ubuntu 11.04. I have
recently experimented with various X11 setups too. If I use the
FrameBuffer driver (fbdev) the bug is gone. If I use the proprietary
AMD/ATI Radeon driver the bug is gone. It seems only if I use the open
source ATI (ati) or ATI Rade

This does not sound exactly like what Armandoj-93 reported. I think
there it was reported that the system never suspends correctly in the
first place?
Is yours also a Asus U43F?
Anyway, please make a separate bug report by typing ubuntu-bug linux in

but it's not initialized properly. Can you check that and delete or
rename that .bzr directory to check my guess?
