I experienced this bug as well, on lucid fresh install.
For temporary workaround, I did as follow:
sudo update-rc.d -f rc.local remove
sudo update-rc.d rc.local defaults
Putting it back to normal setting ( sudo update-rc.d rc.local start 99 2
3 4 5 . ) will make rc.local not being executed (again
I have doko's oneiric toolchain staging PPA enabled for preparing
oneiric merges, but otherwise this is natty.

I've done some investigating on my second array by poking around with mdadm.
It seems that there was a slight offset with the partition allignment that

Rather than pursuing the problem I initially reported, I reverted to the
free nVidia driver provided with maverick and have not had any problems
since. I have not tried natty although I may do so later tonight but I
probably will not try the non-free nVidia driver again.

My system was busy with a very large 'rsync' backup process on an
external drive and there was no possibility to 'aptitude safe-upgrade'
anything (hanging at unpacking). I killed the 'rsync' process and the

This seems as a close resemblence to a problem occuring in Natty-release
as well. Cannot check tick-boxes or type in in the different fields
because of automatic re-alignment on the screen. Seems as a new feature
in Natty to accomodate bigger resolution apps on smaller screen
resolutions.
