Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
Ubuntu better. This particular crash has already been reported and is a
duplicate of bug #747066, so is being marked as such. Please loo
now that I think of it I can't recall seeing any FireFox up dates
included in the "update manager" when I run it.
I did add this line to my "other software" in software sources which I
believe should have let it look for any updates. (?)

btw, i think you are mixing up two issues:
- the latencytop kernel trace is completely unrelated to the issue (it is
related to drm, not to the tracing subsystem)
- the reported bug is not related to 2.6.39-rc1 (it also happens with the
ubuntu-stock kernel)

I got this crash shortly after login. A notification came up with a
tweet response and then shortly after the notification dissappeared,
this crash came.

Hi. I downloaded 64-bit PC (AMD64) desktop CD. I checked using md5sum.
And it is same. And what is worse was the installation wasn't complete
with an error message.
Steps to reproduce the problem:
1 - Open the computer using Ubuntu CD.
