I would have thought that a bugfix release should automatically be
packaged whenever possible.

Seems nobody will ever care for this. Ubuntu - my past experience - does
not care much for basic system functionality, eye-catching features seem
to get higher priority.
The only workaround which really solves the s2ram-problem: blacklist
'snd-usb-audio'.

written to. Because it was the only OS on this box, system was not bootable.

Yes that's me. I didn't realise there was that distinction between the two. I
don't know if 2.5.22 is broken on my system. I first experienced this issue
from the Alpha 3 CD, so that is the first affected version that I know of.
I can confirm that I am not experiencing the issue with the

password from lowercase to uppercase, I get an error message, not a

Weird Quirk/Workaround - If I open a Nautilus window, it does not appear
in the panel BUT if I move it across a window boundary i.e. open it in
workspace 1 and move it to cross the workspace 1/workspace 2 boundary
and then move it back into workspace 1 poof the window appears in the
panel.
