we're not there yet, since there are no replacements, so this is a
regression. I use transcode to record audio/video and it has no alsa

Hehe, this is a funny one. Running on unity-3.6.4-0ubuntu1 I can
actually see that the progress *is* being drawn. Just not where you
expect it to. It's drawn on the background of the entire launcher bar,
stretched to those dimensions! :-)
Wrt to quicklists this is bug #729074 "dynamic quicklists a
libunity does what it should for all I can see, so marking as invalid
for libunity
