Huawei USB modems. Maybe the workaround from there helps also here?

Maybe this bug can be closed, but in that case some bug should be kept

besides Fn+F8, as suggested, changing the brightness may also do the
trick (it worked for me in other kernels). In my e6510 it is Fn+arrow
up to change brightness. Fn+arrow left (to activate / deactivate
automatic brightness adjustment) may also work.

Adding the following to the kernel command line from the CD bootloader
should do the trick (assuming you have an ethernet connection):
d-i preseed/early_command string chroot root apt-get -y install openssh-
server
Alternatively, you can add break=bottom to the kernel command line, then:
(initram
restart -> stop engine, start engine
reload -> reload engine (what ever this means)
To "restart" someting means starting all over.

The icons comes from bamf matching nautilus to a desktop file. The
nautilus desktop file contains system-file-manager. This icon should be
changed in any case as when you click on the launcher, nautilus is

I forgot to mention that when this happens, running programs are still
functioning (eg streaming music playing), but no other keyboard input is
accepted (eg can not switch to a virtual console (ctrl-alt-f1)). I can SSH
into the system from another though.

hid_ntrig loaded and then loading hid_ntrig.
