I've solved the no sound problem on my HP 2133 with Lucid by installing
Alsa 1.0.24, but the "spurious response" messages are still there. No
chance to change AGP aperture size to 256MB as the BIOS does not have

One problem is that I cannot unmount my partition /dev/sdb1 inside
GParted. I can unmount second and third one, but not the first one with
strange label.
I successfully unmounted /dev/sdb1 manually with umount command.
$ sudo umount /dev/sdb1
After that I tried to change partition label manually
one problem solved. After removing the xserver-xorg-video-nouveau
package with synaptic package manager i am now able to see the desktop
and log in. But the grub problem is still there. Hoping the same would
also go away after some more hit and trial.

on the drive, so the problem may just be a bad hard drive. Since it was
a relatively new computer (I got it in Oct 2010) and Win 7 has been

I've noticed the same problem. This is clearly a security issue, and
clearly a bug. The dialog box says "Install security updates without
confirmation", yet the updates are not installed until the user enters a
password. This is, at best, misleading. At the very least, the wording
in the dialog

backwards during boot, obviously after starting dovecot, causing
dovecot: Fatal: Time just moved backwards by 90 seconds. This might

In this application, make sure to set all channels to high volume levels. Make
sure the different speakers (especially 'Front', 'Master', and 'PCM") are NOT
muted and NOT set to low volume levels in gnome-alsamixer.
