In Shotwell 0.7.2, in Ubuntu 10.10, I plug in my Kodak EasyShare C533, turn it
on, and the following pops up:

I've confirmed that a base-installer change is unnecessary; base-
installer/kernel/altmeta=lts-backport-maverick works fine.
I've added the necessary kernel images to the Lucid DVD images, and I'm
going to change the debian-installer build system to generate several
new images, called maverick-cdr
After this, it will only remain to arrange for the maverick kernel and
initrd to be available as boot options on the DVD.

I'll try but chances are that I'll not be able to reproduce the crash
since there have been updates in the meantime.
Moreover what I don't really get it why I am seeing a gnome-panel when logging
in with the "Ubuntu Desktop Edition" session.
The latter should be compiz/unity (no panel).

This Appmenu rubbish is becoming seriously annoying - it's not just
Emacs it's all over the shop. It's getting really close to being a reson
to ditch Ubuntu on my netbook.
Given the number of application for which Appmenu seems to be broken -
just from the bug reports there are Emacs, Audacity, Rh
are you giving those value with a cold cache (so after a reboot), in the Ubuntu
classic (no effect) session?
It's so fast that's it's hard to believe :)
