Thanks for the speedy reply. I've just reinstalled gnome-games and still
have the same problem.
Have run it as root from a terminal with same result as well.
No other user set up on my machine to try it with.
BTW - I'm not the only one that has seen this - found someone on a forum
complaining of

So I spent a half-hour dealing with the thrashing-while-downloading
issue. The moment the download finished wrestool started up in full
force, taking an absurd amount of time (and resources) before it finally
wine-thumbnailed the .exe.
