I'm able to reliably reproduce this bug on a VM that I'm upgrading from
Lucid to Maverick. I say reliably because I've run the upgrade in
sandbox mode, and it happens every time. It prevents the upgrade from
working. Users shouldn't have to edit text files to make their upgrade
work.

I can report that issue while trying to close down Evolution the usual
way hitting the Exit button. Parameter --force-shutdown helps in my case

post, but that has changed. Again, I found myself fighting this problem
and it was proving to be a real bugger trying to connect to local
shares. However, I did find the following combination to work very well
for me:

I tried getting rid of libvirt and invoking qemu directly but that did
not help.
All of these fail the same way:

Today I tried the command line install with the minimal cd for *ubuntu
10.10, adding xubuntu-desktop and meld later. The reported bug did not
appear.
On my daily-use-system running an up-to-date xubuntu 10.04, the bug
still appears.

for what it's worth, the patch does not apply cleanly to lucid or
maverick sources. And it does not seem to be an immediately straight-
forward port for lucid, either. The patch can probably be tweaked
easily enough for maverick, though.
