archive. Please execute the following commands, as it will clear your
package cache, in a terminal ( Applications -> Accessories -> Terminal )
:
sudo apt-get c
The command started in the terminal, has returned nothing. After
updating system the problem didn't come back.

I did suggest this in a bug report #685225. That concerned gir1.0-mutter-2.31
package.
Anyway, it seems only gnome-shell depends on gir1.2-mutter-2.91 and gnome-shell
is dropped for now.
There is no package depending on gir1.2-mutter-2.31, however.
Funny, one can still find the old gnome-shell_2.
This is not the problem. gwibber-service is running in the background,
and gwibber preferences are set to start service at login.

Please read the wiki page referenced above. Nowhere does it tell you to
use the terminal. It does tell you to use Alt+F2, which is a single line
run window. It also tells you to add "&" to the end of the command.
Without that, it is a command that only runs until closed in the
terminal.

Confirming because something odd is definitely going on here. In my
case I'm seeing /etc/default/keyboard having:

XKBLAYOUT="us,af"
XKBVARIANT=","
XKBOPTIONS="grp_led:scroll"
(I've got UK/gb on both my machines but they both end up with this
/etc/default/keyboard) and KDE
My sound works well for Ubuntu in general (I mean Rhythmbox, VLC, etc.). I met
