I unmuted all three channels in alsamixer. I even disabled my onboard
sound card. No sound comes out of my monitor though. I tested the same

Confirmed. This bug is still present in Natty, gnome-control-center
version 1:2.32.1-0ubuntu2. It's quite annoying that I have to re-add all
my backgrounds almost every time I want to switch to a new one.

Hello. Have you had this feature working in empathy at some point
before? As far as I can see, as per

and my testing, empathy does not support video chat with Yahoo. Video
chat should work with Gtalk

I can confirm the same problem in Acer Aspire 4551-4315.
The system is up-to-date (Dec 31, 2010) and I'm using the maverick
(amd64).

I remember the first time I saw this feature. I really thought it was
God's way of showing us he loves us, like letting mankind have beer,
snowboarding, Linux and sex. Now I'm running my eight year old Vaio on
Ubuntu 10.10 and saw in the first shutdown that the 60 second countdown
has disappeared
