Oh, and you probably did lose current_now because of 2.6.36. It comes
directly from the kernel, so not many other components have a chance to
make it go away. Battery hardware varies, so it's easy to have a battery
bug only affect specific laptops. I'd recommend testing a mainline
2.6.35 kernel (to
Fresh install of 10.04 Lucid Lynx. Deselected Firefox updates before
applying upgrades (as was going to use Google Chrome). Had NOT applied
any upgrades. Firefox then wouldn't allow access to the internet & would
check offline. Even when offline deselected, Firefox wouldn't allow
internet access.

After updating my lucid laptop tonight (37 days since last update), this
problem has magically fixed itself for me. I note that some of the packages in
the update were xorg packages and there was a kernel bump also. Whatever it

I don't think anyone was implying that we shouldn't show the EULA. I
believe the bug comment you are referring to was asking why we would
shoe the EULA on *upgrade* as the user would have already accepted the

I've been digging through the source trying to track down the problem I
am experiencing. This has actually led me into the source for
libgnutls26 rather than neon but I'm posting here for completeness.
libneon-gnutls27 calls gnutls_handshake() in libgnutls26 which calls
_gnutls_handshake_client()

you can launch unity by just calling it on the command line. Adding a
--replace would just be nice since gnome-panel is called like that and
gnome-shell is called like that.

@David: I've had a little free time to test this on my Maverick PC with the
2.6.33-rt kernel which suffers from this. I tested by opening several wav/mp3
files with Totem, skipping around in the timeline for about a minute or until
the bug was triggered. I found that:
