Just found that this affects me too on 10.10. lsusb shows my external
My-Link DVD drive as the Genesys, just as others. I can mount it
manually with 'udisks --mount /dev/sr0'. I am using an EeePc 901 (and

Verification was done on a previous kernel. This has come up again
because the patch first came in as (pre-stable) and then came in from
stable. So, we reverted the (pre-stable) and applied the "stable" patch.

It appears to be a missing dependency on "adduser". You can work around
this by installing "adduser" (e.g. aptitude install adduser jetty)
I cannot reproduce issue in an sid chroot, so it has probably been fixed
somewhere between 6.1.20-2 and 6.1.24-6.

Little update I managed to find out: Ubuntu 9.10 works fine, I upgraded
to 10.04 and booted its kernel and it didn't boot. I went back to the
old 9.10's kernel (2.6.31-22-generic-pae according to uname -r) and it
booted fine. I then upgraded to 10.10 and its kernel still doesn't boot.
Again, 9.10's
Really I don't know because since that time I didn't installed again JAVA.
Let say it is fixed.
