Had the same problem, but it was because my disk was full. Made some
space available and now it seems to work. It's a bug nevertheless
because the system froze and files couldn't be written but I didn't get
the "no space left" error (had to find out myself)

The final resolution for Friedrich was to install the bin in
/usr/lib/jvm. That directory contains the original java-6-openjdk which
is not working correctly with openoffice.org. After installing jre-
6u22-linux-i586.bin in /usr/lib/jvm, open office was able to find it

3) wait that the panel-launcher autohides

FYI I am now running kubuntu 10.10. Just tried a Windows XP VM with KVM
set to emulate an intel integrated audio card. There is still no sound
from the VM to PulseAudio. Rdesktop to the VM loads the RDP driver
correctly in Windows and the sound comes through. Please let me know if
there's a workaro
try ubuntu 11.04 alpha on a usb stick!!
finally the problem is solved on vaio cw nvidia gt230 :)
