I also think this bug should receive a higher priority. After suspend I
usually have the "Time has expired" message. Normally this isn't a
problem but recently I had a complete freeze of the system and I
couldn't enter my password at all. I couldn't reproduce this on a

Acutally, once I figured out what was going wrong, I did work around the
problem for myself: I just created a hook script in /etc/initramfs-tools with a
manual_add_modules crc32c
in it, and ran an
update-initramfs -u
and that was it. It didn't even require a kernel build.

i'm sure that libc-bin isn't damaged...infact i reinstalled it again and

Just to be a little clearer about comment #2 , cheese just reads the
video input from gstreamer. If there is a problem with the gstreamer
stream. It needs fixing in the kernel driver and cannot be fixed in
Cheese.

Got it working by removing package openoffice.org-report-builder before
running the update.
Reinstalling the report-builder after successfully upgrading to Maverick
worked flawlessly.

Looking at the trace I don't see any reason why this code would fail so
I suspect a memory corruption. Can you reproduce this crash? Any chance
to get a valgrind log?

I had a very quick look at the package, and it's a relatively small
pure-python project for making it easier to write test suites. So I'm
fairly sure that this will be approved.
I pre-promoted it as this currently breaks the daily CD builds.
