I finally got why it doesn’t work. As a workaround you can edit /etc
/lsb-release to say Kubuntu instead of Ubuntu. But as a final fix for
this bug, /etc/lsb-release should be an alternativ which can be
configured by update-alternativ --config /etc/lsb-release

Could somebody check if this issue is reproducible when only gdm window
left alone even though the Xorg will blank the screen. I am experiencing
something similar on my (Debian) system, but the sympthoms does not look
the same fully. E.g. in my case the system did not freeze if the gdm

The load balancing ticks are down to 2 (in words, two) from 60 or so per second.
Ran it for a few minutes. M/c is less noisy and temperatures are down by a bit

sounds over an hour. Pulse sudden crash away and has to be restartet.

vncviewer.
I make it depend on vnc4server.
Maybe we should first port it to an existed vnc program.

0.9.11 is available in Debian git. Could you just get source from there and add
new Ubuntu revision by 'dch -i' to 0.9.11-0ubuntu1?

i have macbook pro, and running a fresh installed ubuntu 10.10
after resume from suspend/hibernate openoffice is very slow with typing and
scrolling.
killing openoffice will help.

I don't want to have self complied package on Ubuntu (I use it to have an easy
to maintain and up to date distro).
I will stick with my current solution which is to use an other computer that as
a debian stable installed on it to upload the photos, then transfer them

I had this bug also. I was running a 64 bit version (amd-64 10.04 destop
edition installed from cd). I also was using nvidia graphics card/drivers. I
have since upgraded to 10.10 desktop using the cd installation and the problem
has gone away.
