Reopening bug due to newfound test case:
1. Switch to an unused workspace (nothing open there)
2. Use GNOME Do's keybinding to open it.
3. Press Esc in GNOME Do's window to deactivate it without launching anything.
4. Try using any global keybinding -- it won't work.
5. Click on the desktop to rest
One more thing about this: as I may have said, I am getting this problem
mostly on my netbook, which also has a touchpad. As the keyboard is
small, I actually have to hold my thumb up, so that I do not accidentaly
"step" on the touchpad - which is otherwise sensitive to static
electricity.

I have the same problem (also upgraded from 10.04 to 10.10 (both
x86_64). gdm opens but fails to login because it restarts the X server.
As a workaround, I disabled gdm by editing etc/init/gdm.conf. At the
console, I can login and start the X server with startx.

I have this problem too, but like Sebastien, I question whether it is
due to the weather applet. I noticed that killing gnome-panel (which
presumably kills all of its child applets) doesn't seem to fix the

I have opposite problem: middle button send left click.
On 10.04 was all fine.

I've tried to change order of layouts at Layout tab and it helps. I.e.
in case the USA layout is lower than RUS the switch and indicator works
as expected. Obviously this workaround is not a solution. The USA layout
as default is better in most cases.

I had the above error (b43legacy-phy0 ERROR: PHY transmission error) in
Ubuntu 10.04 and came up with the following work around to get things
working very well (as fast and reliably as in MS Windows) using
ndiswrapper. My wireless card is a BCM4306/3 (14e4 4320).
1. Temporarilty install b43legacy
