allows queue names shorter than 4 characters.

I think the devices you see in the Phonon KCM are actually the PA
devices. I disabled one of them in pavucontrol and now it is disabled in
Phonon, too. (Still, the Phonon KCM should offer all the relevant
options from pavucontrol but that's another bug/wish.)

in Lucid with elementary installed everything was fine. the notification
shows just under the panel and if volume is changed the notification
goes under the volume notification.

My thinkpad t510 does suspend and resume with standard kernel and nvidia
drivers on 10.10, but graphics are slow on resume.
I "adapted" Claudios script and put it in /etc/pm/sleep.d/10_nvidia-hack, so
it automaticlly gets run on suspend and resume.
Now graphics are snappy as on fresh boot, so it

not, like "Desktop", "PulseAudio", and "Terminal". Without open-gl
everything is being displayed. Sounds like a problem that is simple to

Thanks for the interest. It appears that my problem was just a bad
installation of ubuntu. I'm not experiencing these problems any more.
Sorry for the trouble.
I must also confess that my PC is old and outdated, so minor problems are
expected.
