Just to add my two (euro)cents here, notice that the same happens to
CrossOver applications. They works well launched by command-line or via
nautilus application etc, but they do not appear anywhere in Unity. Nor
the CrossOver setup etc. It seems that all applications that create a
new top-level en
vim 7.3.035 is awaiting sponsoring to "natty" (bug 662276). Once it's in
natty you can try to request a backport of it to "maverick" to get a

I installed Mythbuntu 10.04 a few weeks ago and I believe I am affected
by this bug as well. I configured Mythvideo to use 'Internal' player and
made sure the drive path is correct. The issue appears to be with the
Internal player because vlc successfully plays the DVD on the same
machine.
Steps..
According to the comments, this bug affects neither current Ubuntu
kernels nor current upstream kernels, so marking fixed.

I have also this same problem and I can fully agree with post #14. I
also installed installed maximus, go-home-applet and window-picker
applet and netbook-launcher-efl (didn't find netbook-remix-efl, not even
sure what it does, maybe those are the same?) and 2D netbook interface
looks and works qui
problem solved:
cd /usr/lib/locale
sudo mv locale-archive locale-archive_old
sudo dpkg-reconfigure locales
and voila, sed is not crazy anymore, nor apt, nor kile.
seems that /usr/lib/locale we have only a locale-archive file.
In Lucid there were folders with each of the locales installed...
so

It will not be soled for maverick, because maverci's version of UNity
use mutter, wich bring these problems. Natty's version will use Compiz,
and should bring a better compatibility with graphics cards, as compiz
is used since a while in Ubuntu.

It's very annoying to do this on 30 computers at my work place.
I have the private keys, I have the Seahorse Daemon running, seahorse
can see the private key, but I cannot "remeber for good" or permanently
the password for that private key in it's default keyring.

I finally got around to doing the above. In addition, I can no longer
run alsaconf, and the alsa-utils is not found even though there, along
with half the other alsa files. Pulsaudio is unable to initialize, but
I do not know if this is because of your prior post to
2.6.32-26 also fixes the suspend with SD card inserted problems with my
Dell Mini 9 (with /etc/pm/config.d/suspend_modules empty).

ok, this is nice, but what about switching to e.g. TTY1. There users
cannot regulate brightness. So I am working on patch for gnome-power-
manager (no root access needed, just if is brightness changed, GPM will
not change it twice)
