Inspired by the timer discussion, I revisited hpet. I tried hpet=force and
clocksource=hpet. Both failed. So I tried nohpet again. This gives about a
30 second boot. Not as fast as when bootchart is installed, but not bad. If
one puts nohpet in /etc/default/grub in line

Problem I'm having is to change the zoom level everytime I initialize
firefox. It seems to me that maybe when you set it to your preferred
zoom level it will remain there everytime you start firefox without it
defaulting back to the lower zoom screen level..

After much trouble with alternatives (also crashing), I recently just
downloaded the source, installed all the necessary dev packages and
built it myself and it works just fine.
I still don't understand why though because both version are 0.9 and the

I am still experiencing the same problem with xserver 1.9 and fglrx
2:8.780-0ubuntu1. I don't think the fix worked, or at least not for
everyone.

I have the same problem here with maverick RTM with both gnome-bluetooth
and blueman. Just for the record, the same kernel version
2.6.35-22-generic under lucid worked fine, so I'm guessing it has to do
with bluetoothd.
