Ok i understand that this package was taken as-is from the debian repo, but in
the debian distribution,
the smarty package put the lib in a dir called 'lib' under
/usr/share/doc/smarty/ (http://packages.debian.org/lenny/all/smarty/filelist).
The problem start on ubuntu because the smarty package
with or without the script i get this results

I my case, when I use liborg-gnome-exchange-operations.so from debian
