I can confirm this bug in Ubuntu Lucis LTS 10.04.1 64-bit Server.
This bug seems not to exists in an older kernel from opensuse 11.1 which I use
with heavy network i/o load.
Version is: Linux 2.6.27.48-0.2-default

Hi, Firefox 3.6.3 on WinXP also has this problem. I have Google Droid
Sans TTF's installed for graphic design with it. Firefox does not show
Droid Sans bold. My Other browsers ( Chrome and IE7 ) have no problem.

I have the same problem in 10.04 (Lucid) with the 2.6.32-25 kernel.
It delays the boot process by 15 sec. but the Card reader works!
Hardware is FujitsuSiemens Lifebook E8410.

Sorry for the delay, I had limited access to the machine. Here is the
kernel log of the day it crashed. I don't know if that is of any help in
identifying a problem. Memory corruption did not seem to be a problem.
Upgrading update-manager-core was the only task that seemed to fail and
it was left
