I tried to install ubuntu netbook endition 10.4 on an asus EeePC 4G.
I have choosen the German languange and started the installation directly.
Then I have filled out the questionare (I have set the partitions manually
(ext4 as / and swap), German language and keyboard) and started the

btusb in /var/log/syslog. But no change, the suspend problem is still
there.

Oh, FWIW, I also had a volume of 0 on Speaker in alsamixer that I had to
set to max. Everything looked fine in the sound preferences, so
presumably once again there's some confusion on what channel things are
playing on :)

I've managed to install gtk2.0 2.21.8 by downloading it manually
wget
http://ftp.uk.debian.org/debian/pool/main/g/gtk+2.0/libgtk2.0-0_2.21.8-1_i386.deb
sudo dpkg --install libgtk2.0-0_2.21.8-1_i386.deb
I assume I'll need to reboot, although maybe a log-off and back on will
do, so will do that,

I'm not able to reproduce this issue. Are you sure that the plugin did
not crash on logout? Could you attach your config file:
$HOME/.config/xfce4/panel/xkb-plugin-*.rc (if there are lots of them,
it's usually because of crashes)?

I do not use this plugin myself anymore. So I can not confirm or deny
the bug.
I have tried to backport the fix mentioned in the 1.9.1 release notes. You can
find the package in my PPA https://edge.launchpad.net/~onkarshinde/+archive/ppa
If you can confirm that the package in my PPA works for you
