When trying to install Maverick on my Desktop, I ran into quite a few
issues. First off, when using the live cd and selecting "Install
Ubuntu," the installer didn't appear, only the top "panel" with the
Sound and Shutdown icons, which didn't work. I t

I can confirm what Andre reported. Songs with the special characters "ö"
and "ä" are stuck in the state "Transferring to your Ubuntu One
storage", all other songs without such special characters worked well.
All of the songs seem to be downloaded to disk.

India has a *lot* of languages, I think I picked standard Hindi, again
not much of it in evidence on the desktop, but what was there does not
seem to be adversely affected by the addition of the new font

Nope, my PPA hack didn't work. This was using the same process that
fixed the problem in Lucid, that is, prevent plymouth from setting the
terminal to unbuffered input. Since the lucid fix had done most of it, I
disabled the remaining calls, but it didn't fix it. I suppose the
problem is different
What is it that you want us to test, exactly? I'm 99% sure that staging
server vs. production server is irrelevant to this bug. It's entirely
about the kind of window that Ubuntu Software Center opens, not about
the Web page displayed inside it.

Not only do I not use a password to log on, I also have the screensaver
set to not require a password when interrupted. So it is odd that power
management requires one when resuming. To me it seems that the
screensaver setting and the logon setting should be one and the same and
should match the PM
