This sounds like a gufw specific issue. ufw by default does not have IPv6
support enabled, so what it does instead is that if it is available on the
host, it will disallow all incoming and outgoing traffic, except on the

the UNR environment are always maximized (by default) and that the Netbook
launcher works on fullscreen, the only way the the system has to show (send to
the top layer) the launcher when asked is by ignoring the 'alw
Thanks to NoOp, too - 'downgrading' to udisks 1.0.1-1build1 on Lucid
gave me access to the files on my USB floppy. I had already removed the
floppy module, as others have suggested, to no avail. 'Downgrading'
also seems to have brought my DVD reader to life, at least for iso9660
file systems.

Thank you for your help. I already submitted my machine to LyteSpeed
Computer repair and the program existed with the Ubuntu Studio kernel.
The problem has been resolved by running a Windows boot loader with
Vista and Ubuntu 10.04. This boot loader then redirects to a grub boot
for Ubuntu.

Damon: I'd recommend trying to use 'virsh edit' to do it from the
command line. For instance, to add a disk called
'/srv/libvirt-storage-pool-1/lucid2.img'
to a VM called lucid1, I would do:
virsh edit lucid1
which pulls up $VISUAL editor with the xml definition for lucid1. Then add

I had been seeing this problem on a new ThinkPad W510 running 10.04.
The symptom I was seeing was that the screen would lock up at random
times over the course of the day, sometimes after several hours, other

I can confirm this bug. 'sudo lshw' hangs the system but only if I run the
command two times.
When I run it first time I get:
'killed offer devices '
When I run it second time, it hangs.

I encounter the issue in both Lucid and Maverick.
gdb on the generated core, w/ a 'bt' shows:

Testing on a machine with 4G ram and 250Gig HDD. The installer gave the
machine 12G swap...so hibernate can't fail due to lack swap space with
