The only thing that you can verify is the access permisions, are all
pc's with the same user or giving the correct user, the user have acces
to recourses, and by the way, whatever that mean permisions.

console output. Again the kernel locked up, unable even to respond to

I'm not sure if what I am experiencing here is the same, but if after I
first turn this computer on I open Konsole and do an upgrade X.org will
crash and chuck me out of the desktop. If I try a second time, it works
fine.

my sound output works fine, only my microphone when recording crackles.
I have installed pulseaudio device chooser and when i run the volume
meter (recording) it shows constant activity (the crackling). let me
know what i need to do to assist you to assist me. thx. martin

Binary package hint: p7zip
To allow the creation of windows auto-extractable file under
linux the libary 7z.sfx is missing in the package.
Since (our) windows users do not like to install
the 7zip tool I have to distribute auto-extractable archives.
