Hi, I just tried Ubuntu 10.10, version from 26.08.2010 and the bug is still
present - all I get from my Sound Blaster VX is only irritating noise.
I tried to run apport-collect, but unfortunatelly the network (wireless)
doesn't work for my on this version and everything keeps crashing all the tim
The bug is still present in Lucid. As Phil Ayres describes you can
easily trigger the bug by changing the volume soon after switching to
another track. I use my scroll wheel to change the volume if that
matters.

Trying this again and it seems to behave a bit differently at times.
Sometimes gives me a black screen with mouse but no keyboard input and
sometimes password dialog, but no keyboard input. Noticed there was disc
activity at this point, so I left it for a few minutes and it then came
alive by itsel

Running Ubuntu 9.10 everything worked without problem. After upgrading
to Ubuntu 10.04 I don't see the splash screen and X does not display
*anything*. When I log in from a remote system I see that X is running.

Thanks for the download links, although in the case of the precompiled
binary most Ubuntu users will probably find the Debian packages at
http://packages.debian.org/experimental/ffmpeg2theora easier.
Can you provide a sample ogg file (or a link to one)? I doubt that the
resolution matters.

I haven't found any problems with the gwibber client or service while
testing maverick, apart from disliking the magically appearing buttons
in the Accounts window.

After suspending while at gdm's login screen, the mouse cursor never
appears after resume.
The mouse is *there* and can do things, but it's invisible - moving it
over a login name (by sheer luck) will make hovertext appear, and
clicking works as usu

This is not a wine problem. When running a program (SimCity 4) with
wine using the ALSA driver for sound, sound is lost if there is an
interrupt, for example, a context switch (ALT+TAB) even if there is no
other context. winehq is aware of this,
