I upgraded to 2.6.32-24-generic via update manager. The machine then
hung exactly as described in comment #49. I suspect the module build
failed as I couldn't find it in the 2.6.32-24 modules when I booted
using an older kernel.
I then upgraded my NVidia drivers to 256.35-0ubuntu2~xup from PP
fwiw, update-manager 1:0.142.4 (running maverick alpha-2 live-CD) still
uses "Distribution Updates".

The network is disabled every time the computer doesn't resume properly.
I suspended the laptop unsuccessfully today, and upon reboot I had the

Ok, for the record, I removed my workaround and updated my Ubuntu
install. ldd'ing IcedTeaPlugin.so now results in no 'not found' lines
and all of the installed browsers work with Java without any extra
configuration. So yes, this is fixed for me as well.
