I wanted to respond to the very first post (bug description, *before*
post #1):
So i *don't* use Ubuntu, but am on a Fedora Core 10 system, but just
doing as suggested in the first post:
"sudo /etc/init.d/network restart"
(which is what the command is on my system, not "networking"), works
total
Tried to:
1. start viking
2. open more than one gpx track file
3. close a file by deleting it in the list of viking
4. rename the closed file (smthg.gpx -> something.gpx) in file manager

For Megavideo, as weird as it sounds, it seems that the connection stops
after a couple of seconds after fullscreening. When watching without the
fullscreen, I have not noticed that the connection stops.

Hmm, this may be related to the facebook then, because I am getting this
error on start-up, even though gwibber appears to be running just fine,
with my facebook and twitter accounts.
On my laptop which I recently installed Ubuntu (about a week or two
ago), I could not add my facebook to gwibber,

btw, 0.9.6.2 is a great improvement over 0.9.5.2, which has an awful lot
of bugs that were fixed with 0.9.6.2, so please also add it to stable
(i.e. lucid), not only to maverick which is only in alpha and thus not
even usable!
