I get the error "please install the following libraries manually -
libdvdcss.so.2" - twice when trying to burn DVD copies. Is this related
to the issue discussed in this thread? I have manually updated these
libraries and it makes no difference to the error and the application
completely fail
Jim, does it only hang when you have TLS enabled in your FTP client?
Because if it hangs without TLS also then your problem is most likely
not this bug and are having another issue.

I have an HDA Intel (ICH 7) soundcard on a Samsung NC10 netbook.
With the pulseaudio dbverify utility I verified that the dB values for my
soundcard are wrong. The Master mixer control is OK, but the PCM mixer (with
fine-grained steps 0-255 of 0.2 dB each) seems off.

I did not receive the update for issue solving for a long time and I meet some
problems on my vmware server. I removed the Ubuntu on my vmware virtual machine
already and install Ubuntu 10.04 directly instead upgrading from 8.04 to 9.10.

I had a special search folder for the "unread" e-mails. When the e-mail
was irrelevant, I just marked it as "read" using the keyboard shortcut.

The problem remains in lucid, and it is still intermittent. Offhand I'd
say it happens between 20-40 per cent of the time when I start Gnome.
I haven't reported it upstream yet. Maybe I will.

I can now confirm this myself. I have installed a Maverick partition and
got a "no screens" when booting with an external monitor attached and X
in low-graphics mode. Thanks to Glen for already finding out where the
failsafeX-backup-tar went.

First, let me say that using the suggestion in #18 about hard coding the
DNS fixed the problem for me.
I have a laptop with a 32-bit AMD Sempron processor that I wiped and did
a full, fresh install of Ubuntu Lucid Lynx.
I have added some 3rd party repositories in my /etc/apt/sources.d/
directory.
Your patch looks good to me. Thanks for your work on this :)
