As speculated above, can confirm mission-control is holding onto user
log in data. After sudo apt-get purge'ing empathy and telepathy-*,
mission-control is still left running in memory. I ended up doing 'sudo
kill -9 pid' on the mission-control process in question before re-
installing empathy, but

Magicicada crashes with a GTK error when edit
Performed a reboot, as Sascha Müller did, and problem was fixed. I
assume that one of the other packages that was upgraded at the same time
needed a reboot to take effect.

I don't know if anyone has noticed but disabling compiz fixes two bugs
it fixes this one and when ubuntu goes into power saver if you have
firefox open you cannot type in the browser it also fixes this problem.
I know there is a bug report for that problem as well so you may want to
link the two. O

thank you Omer Akram, I updated gwibber and gwibber-service from lucid-
proposed and now something is different, but now I'm getting three
'Facebook error 4 - Application request limit reached' and still cannot
