I do not think this is a bug. A while ago the decision was made to turn
off icons in menus by default for Gtk apps. The rationale was that the
icons did nothing to clarify the menu entry's purpose and only cluttered
the user interface.

Yes, I considered this, but I can't believe the the cpu is too hot. When
I switch on the pc after it was unused for hours, I see this message
immediately when I try to install xubuntu, also it doesn't stop here. I
can go on for a while, but then the installation stops with an

Regardless of whether the behaviour itself is a bug, the undocumented
nature of the solution is definitely a bug. I spent several hours

Using Ubuntu 10.04 (upgraded) and ff4.0b1, still experiencing Gnome
freeze (mouse still works). Ctrl+Alt+F2 and executing 'killall firefox-
bin' solved the issue as usual. (For those who are new to Ubuntu: Return
to desktop typing 'logout' and then hit Alt+F7).
