I've now tried with http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-

I've also used Wireshark to examine my XP machine's packets, and I
repeatedly see lots of QUERY_PATH_INFO examining the vario

folder. Also, this problem is present in fresh installs, and afaik only
present in desktops with norwegian translation, if ubuntu is in english
the æøå's work just fine...

The persistant problem since Karmic seems to be partially solved by
reseting puleaudio by moving the puleaudio config files
rm -r ~/.pulse
But in Lucid it this fix failed and it failed to see my hardware. Had to

The ti-omap kernels have migrated from their own source package (linux-
ti-omap) to the main kernel source package (linux) in Maverick. The
meta-package links for these kernel have also migrated from their own
package (linux-meta-ti-omap) to the main kernel meta package (linux-
meta) in step with

essentially bypassing the gnome-session and forcing a shutdown. The
safer way to shutdown is to first disable QS, then do as usual.

I fixed this problem somehow, but I can't remember what I did. I should have
posted it - I'm very sorry I forgot.
I've performed several updates to Lucid as well as fresh installs of Lucid, and
didn't experience any problems.

I have patched dmraid to show the metadata locations in the debug output
(hopefully)
