Hernando, can you try the patch Jay attached to LP: #591660 and see if
it helps your encountered situation?
Relaxing the your mouse-sensitivity settings does temporarily fix your
issue, I assume? Kind of a work-around for the the time being.

Ok, so the last time this happened, I fixed the error by deleting
gwibber entries in couchdb. Beginning of this week. This error suddenly
came up again. I have to delete couchdb entries again.
Surely this is not ideal? I installed the standard gwibber from the
ubuntu 10.04 repos. It's really annoy

The problem was solve by reinstalling
ubuntu 9.10 from a cd intead the upgrade from update manager . But now I'm
working on the 10.4 version and is very smooth

That seems to be just a bug in gedit.
If the backup option is checked (create a backup copy of files before saving),
everything works properly.
If that option is not selected, then you can save your modified file just once.
Successive saving will cause the error.

In reply to comment #104 - I just couldn't start a VirtualBox virtual
machine so I did start rc-sysinit. ps aux showed me the following
processes: VirtualBox, CouchDB, CUPS, Apache2 and ondemand which hadn't
been initialized before.
