Had that issue as well. Just go to Applications -> Ubuntu Software
Center. In the search bar type in "usb" without the quotes. Install the
package, "usbmount" After it installs plug in your USB drive and it

Same problem showed up after several weeks of no prior problem with
Lucid. Now it is a problem with Lucid using Gnome 2.30.0 Kernel
2.6.32-22-generic, (64-bit) AMD Phenom II X2 550 processor. Power
button is the only way to shut down, and I have to push it twice.

Reading various guides about vpnclient I have managed to compile, patch
and run vpnclient 4.8.02 on Ubuntu 10.04. However, shortly after
running "vpnclient connect " the entire system hangs.
I've tried reducing the number of cores and this has had no effect. I
am running on
Forcing fbcon is a problem with HP nx6125, which has Radeon XPRESS 200M, as
this laptop cannot resume from suspend if a framebuffer is used. I had to
disable KMS so I could use suspend/resume. So I hope we are not forced to use
fbcon.
I don't understand the remarks about a text console, as I don
as said in the Debian bug thread referenced a couple of posts ago a
workaround is to add --audio-buffer 0 to the start options. It seems to
work at least in my case (media server transcoding and streaming)
I hope somebody fixes this bug sooner

0.9rc2. After I disabled this add-on, I can connect normally. The only
other add-on I use is Adblock Plus with Easylist. I tried with AP on and

Okay, yup, I have the same exact bug. And yes this fixes it for me with
no side effects. I've been using 5.1 mode for a week or more, in games
that use alsa emulation mode, gstreamer apps, and pretty much
everything, with nary a problem. And there is no buzzing.

Hmm it's possible your CPU just cannot handle the "speed of sound"
without the SIMD in there :-) Doubtful though. I don't think sound
volume controls should take 100% CPU. If they do, something's seriously
wrong.
